The Dorothy Wolf Scholarship is a scholarship opportunity for Stafford County Public Schools. Recipients of this scholarship must be seniors accepted into and planning to attend either The University of Virginia or the University of Mary Washington.  Prior recipients are eligible to apply one time, for the immediatly following school year only.  This opportunity will be extended to SCPS students annually. A total of six (6) scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $4,500 each. Prior winners are eligible to reapply for a one time for a scholarship in the amount of at least $1,500. Either one (1) or two (2) prior winners will be selected.  

 

Dorothy Wolf grew up in the City of Fredericksburg and lived most of her life in the Ferry Farm area. Her son, Michael, graduated from Stafford High School and went on to obtain a degree from The University of Virginia.  Mrs. Wolf's mother, Rosalie Hill,  was a teacher in Stafford County  in the 1960's. Mrs. Hill graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 1920 and was a "dorm mother" at Cornell Hall for many years.
